Last night, Kathy Nunn Moody went to be with our Lord. It was an unexpected death following surgery involving a heart valve. Kathy was the daughter of the Reverend Don Nunn and his wife, Helen. The services will be held at Elmira Chapel CPC at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 15.
I met Kathy when she was about 13 years old. That was when her father came to St. John Fellowship to be our pastor. She was, even as a teen, very gentle and kind. She enjoyed looking out for others and was ready to help anyone in need. Her heart and home were open to all. I will always remember the way her eyes would light up when greeting you and how she could make you feel as though you were the most important person in her life at that moment.
She had two children, Ashley and Chris, for whom she had total responsibility from a time when they were young children. They have grown, through her example, to be wonderful adults.
Kathy's life was often difficult, but I never heard her complain. She most often talked of how blessed she was. Her devotion to God, her parents, her children and her friends was apparent in everything she did.
While writing this I have a picture in my mind that I will carry with me - that of her shy smile and laughing eyes. She will be missed. (a message from Paula Hayes)
